Part-time – 22.5 hours per week

Green Connect is a certified not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity dedicated to making the world fairer and better. It provides training and employment opportunities to people who need it the most, in work that cleans up, benefits and protects the environment. It runs an award-winning sustainable permaculture farm, community op shops and provides Ethical Labour Hire and Zero Waste Services to progressive businesses, organisations and councils.
The role
This is a permanent part-time role (22.5 hours per week), based in our Unanderra office or at the Green Connect farm.
What you will be doing
Providing one-on-one client service and case management support to program participants, young people aged between 15 to 24 years. Applying a strengths-based approach to match participants to employment and training opportunities. Involves:
Building capacity of participants so they have the tools required to improve their lives
Building on the ideas, goals, talents, strengths of participants
Seeking ongoing understanding of employment barriers and support needs
Working in collaboration with businesses and community members to provide support, community connection and opportunity
Developing relationships with participants and community that involve two-way learning
Actively marketing clients to potential employers and establishing relationships with local employers and services.
About you
The following knowledge, skills, experience, and qualifications will be required to perform well in the role:
Experience working with young people and/or relevant experience in employment or education sectors
Certificate IV in Community Services or ability to gain
Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of people, including clients, team members, employers, educational facilities’ representatives and community stakeholders
Ability to empathise with diverse situations and barriers to education and employment
Sound knowledge of local labour markets and ability to communicate and network with business and community networks.
Highly developed IT skills and record keeping tools
Capacity to effectively manage time frames, caseloads and client needs
Able to positively represent the service and its projects and aims
Ability to work within strict boundaries with limited supervision
Current NSW Working with Children and National Criminal History Checks or ability to gain
Drivers Licence
It would be desirable if you also have:
Previous caseload management experience with people experiencing disadvantage

Aboriginal Youth Worker
Homebase
Permanent part-time - 30 hrs per week
Homebase Youth Services (HYS) is part of our range of Community Service programs. HYS is looking for an Aboriginal Youth Worker to develop and deliver services to meet the needs of Aboriginal young people, particularly disadvantaged Aboriginal young people, and their families.
The role
Permanent part-time - 30 hrs per week, based on Worimi country inTuncurry, NSW mid-north coast. You will be providing specialist case management including advocacy, support, referral and counselling for clients of our WARS (Worimi Aboriginal Referral Service) and PaCE (Parental and Community Engagement) programs. What you will be doing
Creating effective client relationships, where clients feels connected, respected and are provided input into the service provision offered
Maintaining accurate records and case notes
Organising and attending meetings to identify needs and opportunities
Providing referrals and links that support client needs and plans
Fostering debate about Indigenous issues, particularly positive strategies and solutions
Supporting clients to access community facilities, supports and services
Promoting services and programs to relevant clients, families and community stakeholders
Representing, advocating and enhancing the reputation of HYS
About you
Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or a Certificate IV in Drugs and Alcohol
Case management experience
Able to plan, deliver and promote programs and activities that engage young people, parents, children and their families
Able to collaborate with a range of stakeholders, team members and community members
Strong record keeping practices
Sound awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their customs and culture
Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
Developed computer literacy
Commitment to safe work practices (WHS)
Understanding of Child Protection and Mandatory Reporting requirements
Ability to work within strict boundaries, with limited supervision
Able to positively represent HYS services and projects
Ability to operate in a way that is authentic, fair, brave and sustainable
Willing to undertake NSW Working with Children and National Criminal History Checks
Current Drivers Licence
Evidence of full COVID19 vaccination and willingness to share vaccination status
It would be desirable if you also have:
Experience in a youth or community services environment
Willingness to participate in further formal training
Experience in a drug and alcohol referral and or counselling environment
